The mission of the Infection Control department is to reduce the risks of nosocomial infections for all patients and healthcare workers through an interdisciplinary, interdepartmental hospital plan. The hygienist takes in charge this department and its objectives are to:
•Organize, coordinate and supervise the activities of hospital hygiene and reduce the risk of healthcare acquired infections
•Elaborate procedures and recommendations in hospital hygiene practice
•Realize audits and field surveys to supervise the application of the procedures
•Evaluate the hygiene procedures
•Staff training for the management of infection risks
•Elaborate and participate in quality improvement projects in the hospital hygiene.
